Qualis Commercial has submitted a planning application to build 48 new homes and apartments on the former garden nursery site at Pyrles Lane, Loughton.

The site which has remained empty and disused for several years will provide 30 apartments and 18 houses which are designed to blend seamlessly with the existing surroundings.

The planning application has taken on board views and comments from the local community, which were provided through an extensive public consultation, including a dedicated website providing information and a face-to-face drop in event.

Simon Rutter, Managing Director of Qualis Commercial comments, “Our planning application is the culmination of months of work by our team to ensure we are providing a scheme which provides much needed homes including affordable homes that are energy efficient and built for future needs.”

The proposed homes will benefit from a fabric first approach with a low carbon footprint and energy efficient heating systems reducing the impact of energy costs.

The development will be landscaped with natural play and seating for all to enjoy along with enhanced biodiversity through new tree planting, bird, and bat boxes. It will also retain the natural linkages in and around the site that reflects its relationship with Hillyfields Open Space.

Each home will have parking with the inclusion of EV charging points and additional parking for visitors. The development is located within easy walking distance of a range of amenities including schools which Qualis Commercial expects to contribute funding towards through its S106 legal agreement.
