Local residents in Loughton are being invited to take part in a public consultation to share their views on the redevelopment of the former garden nursery site on Pyrles Lane.

Qualis Commercial is proposing to build 37 quality new homes and apartments including much needed affordable homes for local residents, on the site which has remained empty and disused for several years.

A dedicated website with information about the proposals will be available to view and leave feedback from Thursday 10th March until Wednesday 23rd March. Please visit https://pyrleslanenewhomes.commonplace.is where comments can be left in a secure and confidential environment.

There will also be the opportunity to view the plans in person and speak to the team at a drop in event being held on Tuesday 15th March at Unit 1, Buckingham Court, Rectory Lane, Loughton IG10 2QZ from 10.30am to 7pm.

The proposed homes on Pyrles Lane will be designed to blend seamlessly with the existing surroundings and will provide 17 apartments and 20 houses.

Simon Rutter, Managing Director of Qualis Commercial comments, “We look forward to engaging with as many people as possible and receiving feedback on the proposals. This development is part of our long-term plans to provide quality new homes and services to the Epping Forest district. In building homes, we are aiming to create safe integrated communities where people can live, work and relax.”

The proposed homes have been designed to benefit from a fabric first approach with renewable heating systems and a low carbon footprint reducing standard energy costs.  They will benefit from either amenity space or a private garden.

The development will be landscaped with natural play and seating for all to enjoy along with enhanced biodiversity through new tree planting, bird and bat boxes. It will also retain the natural linkages in and around the site that reflects its relationship with Hillyfields Open Space.

Each home will have parking with the inclusion of EV charging points and additional parking for visitors. The development is located within easy walking distance of a range of amenities including schools, healthcare, and shops.
